December 2024 - Bristol, RI

Bristol, RI is a beautiful New England town on the east side of the Narragansett Bay. Bristol is conveniently located to Providence, RI and Newport, RI. This small town has so much to day and has events throughout the year for the community.

 

Bristol, RI is home to the oldest Independence Day celebration in the United States. Each year the Fourth of July parade attracts up to 100,000 attendees. Leading up to the Fourth of July there is so much to do in town. Each summer they have a free concert series, a carnival and fireworks.

 

In October dress the kids up for the trick-or-treat event to the stores downtown. 

 

In the beginning of December, Bristol hosts a holiday market based off the famous European Holiday Markets. Enjoy the grand illumination in town, with the lighting of the tree downtown and decorative lights that line the downtown street. 

 

Every year they host a soap box derby, a vintage baseball game, and more.

 

It is not just the year round events that make Bristol, RI such a great town to live or run a business. There is something for everyone.

 

The gorgeous Roger Williams University is in Bristol, right on the water. Roger Williams is a small private university that enrolls 5,000 students. 

 

Museums:

Herreshoff Marine Museum - There are over 70 boats in the Herreshoff Marine museum, ranging from an 8 1/2' dinghy to a 75' Defiant. In the spring and summer they hold sailing camps for children as well.
